Increased Dynamic Range
BIT products provide very low source impedance to connected devices. A low impedance power supply supplies ultra-high current on demand, ensuring components (even power amps!) aren’t starved for power. For example, a 200-watt amplifier draws 10A RMS current from a 120V line, but may require instantaneous peaks of up to 50A. A 15A or 20A BIT can deliver 300A or 400A peaks when the system demands it, allowing the highest power amps to deliver maximum performance and dynamics without effort or compromise. Active Surge Suppression
BIT uses Serial Mode Surge Suppression (SMSS) technology to fully protect your equipment from lightning and surge damage. Our unique series mode surge suppression does not shunt the spike voltage to ground like MOVs do and therefore the ground remains stable and uncontaminated. The BIT surge suppression has a clamping voltage inception that absorbs surges of more than 2V above the peak rated line voltage. BIT units are built to exceed IEEE strength standards that require products to withstand 6,000 volt, 3,000 amp lighting strikes with 1,000 repetitions.
Mains Isolation
BIT provides full isolation from the external mains via a Plitron designed and engineered toroidal isolation transformer that eliminates electrical noise caused by sources such as motors, lights, appliances and dimmers commonly found in the home environment. Therefore, providing power to your system through a BIT isolation transformer is infinitely superior to using increasingly polluted and noisy wall power.
Ultra Quiet
Bryston BIT products utilize Plitron’s ‘LONO’ (Low Noise) transformer design technology, which eliminates audible noise at the power transformer regardless of line conditions, DC offset, and surge. BIT products use Plitron “NBT” (Narrow Bandwidth Technology) to attenuate differential and common mode noise without using external circuitry or components.
