The Dubai Record Collective is an initiative started by fellow record collector and metal head Phebeian Johnson that aims to gather vinyl records enthusiasts in the UAE and organize gatherings and meet-ups for members.
The group has grown over the years and is currently active via a Whatsapp group and its 138 members based in UAE managed by Phebian and Hakim from Raw Music Store.
The Collective organizes a bi-annual meet up where members join around a drink to discuss their passion for music, buy and sell records and enjoy live music acts. The event is usually held around April and November.
The last edition was held on April 13 to celebrate the record store day and despite unfriendly weather conditions, the event was a success with more than 50 members attending.
