Featuring a digital DAB radio, with the back-up of FM, plus Bluetooth streaming and a line input, the R1 MK4 has the true multi-source functionality of a larger music system.
Smooth, Ruark sound
Featuring Ruark’s NaturalSound+ driver and linear amplifier, the R1 MK4 delivers an impressively smooth and natural sound for a compact speaker. With 9 watts of power, there’s ample volume to fill a smaller area with life-like sound. Adjustable EQ settings tailor the sound to your preference.
DAB and FM radio
With a choice of DAB, DAB+ and FM, the R1 is well equipped for tuning into a wide range of radio stations both here and abroad. DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) gives access to the widest range of stations in the UK, in crisp and clear digital sound quality. DAB+ is available across countries European countries and offers even higher levels of sound quality. In case your favourite stations aren’t available in DAB, then this Ruark radio is also equipped with an FM tuner.
Wireless Bluetooth connection
As well as just a radio, the R1 MK4 lets you stream music via Bluetooth. Connect your smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth music source and you can effortless stream your stored music or streaming music services such as Spotify and Tidal.
AUX in and USB
Connect up another source, such as an MP3 player or iPod by using the AUX 3.5mm input. Also featuring a USB-C play and charge socket, the R1 MK4 charges your smartphone. Stream some music before you go to sleep, plug in overnight and wake up to a phone that’s charged and ready to go – no other charger required!
Effortless control
Using Ruark’s intuitive Rotodial, controlling the R1 MK4 is easy. Similar to a premium car brands’ multi-controllers, the Rotodial groups all the controls together for simple twist and push operation. An optional remote control is also available at additional cost.
Add the optional BP3 battery pack and use it anywhere
You can make the R1 MK4 even more flexible by adding the optional Ruark BP3 BackPack III. Add the optional rechargeable battery and the R1 becomes fully portable. With a battery life of up to 12 hours, the Ruark is ideal for longer stints outside or as a radio in the bathroom. Charge time is around 5 hours.
