ATC SCM-40 Floorstanding Speakers

Manufactured in house to exacting tolerances, ATC’s drivers are legendary for their many design innovations. For instance, the hand-wound short voice coils use only high density edge-wound flat OFC wire and operate in a precision long magnetic gap. Front and rear magnetic venting not only reduces airflow and noise, but increases power handling and long term reliability. Meanwhile, massive motor assemblies offer no-compromise optimization for each voice coil diameter. The SCM40 is part of a rare group of loudspeakers that use a dome midrange driver rather than the usual cone type driver. This setup however means excellent integration between the midrange driver and the similarly shaped tweeter keeping everything neatly together and revealing insights into recordings other speakers can only dream of. With this level of clarity however they will not suffer poor quality source or amplification kindly!

Primus Speaker changes skin and in conjunction with a cosmetic restyling, is further improved with the insertion of an Aluminium/Mylar shielding before the outer sheath. This further upgrade, which is recognisable for products with the Mark II appellation, does not result in a revolutionary or new product, but does improve its already excellent performance.
