JET6 Tweeter Upgrade
In 2023, ELAC released the JET 6, the fifth generation of this ribbon tweeter. For the JET 6, a completely new layout of the aluminum foil webs and faceplate has been developed, resulting in an improved linear response in the frequency range, less distortion and a lower resonant frequency. This latest improvement offers significant benefits in optimizing the crossover filter between the ribbon tweeter and the woofer.
Aluminium Woofer with Crystal Cone
The cone design of this speaker chassis represents the signature features of ELAC’s top-of-the-line models. The cone itself is made of ultra-light aluminum, which derives its rigidity from its advanced crystal structure. In addition, the back of the cone is equipped with a cellulose cone to dampen the hard properties of aluminum. What sets the woofer in the Elegant BS-312.2 apart from its predecessor is the addition of an additional magnet and a larger voice coil diameter.
Thoughtful design
Consistent down to the last detail. The Elegant BS 312.2 monitor speaker is well thought out in every way. The low-resonance aluminium housing and the high-quality components – such as generously dimensioned air coils, foil capacitors and Van den Hul interior cabling – perform their work invisibly. At the rear, the bass reflex pipe and opening have been re-optimized and there are sturdy bi-wiring connection terminals.
Practical optional Alrulastic aluminium base
Of course, the Elegant BS312.2 can be placed on a piece of furniture with the included adhesive felt pads, but that doesn’t do the speaker justice. The sturdy Alrulastic aluminium base is equipped with rubber damping material with a refined structure on the top, so that acoustic feedback does not stand a chance. The same base can also serve as an adjustment plate that can be screwed onto the LS 60 speaker stand. The Elegant BS 312.2 can be screwed on to it. A perfect base.
The personal touch
The Elegant BS 312.2 comes without grills because it offers a multitude of options to personalize the speakers. Without a whim, this speaker is already beautiful to look at. Of course, there are also the usual black and white metal grills, but there are also grills with a specially sprayed plastic frame and fabric upholstery in eight colour combinations. There’s even an online tool available that allows you to design the fabric yourself, whether it matches your curtains, sofa cushions or even your favorite shirt? Let your imagination run wild.
